Eureka Yoga promotes the practice and dissemination of yoga throughout
our community.  We believe that healthy & balanced individuals are the
necessary building blocks of a stable, balanced, and peaceful society.  Yoga
is a powerful tool that enables both individuals and communities to move
towards peace & harmony.  Yoga is a vast & ancient science, and is
appropriate for individuals of all ages, religions, and political leanings,
provided that one is willing to look beyond superficial cultural differences.

In our material and instruction we emphasize the practice of the EIGHT
LIMBS of yoga, as described in the yogic texts.  As for our asana practice, we
follow the teachings of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India.  This style is
termed Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, and comprises the 6 sequences of postures
combined with Ujjayi breathing, Bandhas and Drishti.

“The young, the old, the extremely aged, even the sick and infirm obtain
perfection in yoga by constant practice.  Success will follow he who
practices, not he who practices not. Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Chapter I, Verses
    64-6.

“Yoga is not for him who gorges too much nor for him who starves himself.  It
is not for him who sleeps too much nor for him who stays awake.  By
moderation in eating and in resting, by regulation in working and by
concordance in sleeping and waking, yoga destroys all pain and sorrow”.
    Bhagavad-Gita
